Caring For Your Gymnastics Leotard
Getting a new girls' gymnastics leotard is the happiest time of the year for a gymnast, and you can't wait to show it off at your next practice! We want to make sure you make the most of your gymnastics outfits. The way you care for your leotard can affect the lifespan of your gear.
Follow these instructions to make the most of caring for your favorite gymnastics clothes.
1.Rinse/wash: After a quick workout, sweat and body oils can take a toll on your gymnastics uniforms, so wash as soon as possible, the sooner the better!
2.Hand washes: All experts agree that hand washing is best. For delicate gymnastics wear, washing machine agitation can destroy the crystal parts of the gymnastics suits.
3.Soap: We recommend washing leotards with a mild detergent and staying away from standard laundry detergents, especially granular detergents, as they can be abrasive. Do not bleach or iron tights.
4.Dry: Resist the urge to tighten the leotard after washing your hands. Doing so can damage the optical fibers. Place the leotard on a towel, roll the towel up and squeeze gently, then allow it to dry. Avoid drying in the sun.
5.Keep it cool: Hot water is not suitable for exercise. Wash your clothes in cold water.
6.Prepare your new leotards: Before your first workout, you can soak them in a mixture of vinegar and water for 30 minutes (1 tablespoon of white vinegar per quart of water) to prevent the dye from bleeding.
When you take care of your rhythmic gymnastics leotards properly, they should last a long time. If you have any questions about caring for your TENVDA gymnastics leotards, please contact us at service@tenvda.com
